SIMCom won 2019 GGAI Golden Globe Award as "Annual Automotive Module Supplier"
On December 20, 2019, 2019 GGAI Annual Conference & Golden Globe Award ceremony was held in Shanghai. As a platform that focuses on the integration services of the intelligent networking supply chain of the vehicle industry, GGAI has attracted numerous industrial elites in auto driving, Internet of vehicles, intelligent cockpit, as well as leading enterprises from the traditional vehicle industry chain to attend this summit to discuss and share the significant changes and technical trends in the intelligent networking of the vehicle industry, and to predict the future of the industry in 2020.
In this summit, with its outstanding strength and innovative technology, SIMCom’s Automotive module stood out from numerous items on display and won the Golden Globe Award as "Annual Automotive Module Supplier". SIMCom has dedicated to its research on the Automotive module long time ago. SIMCom has issued its automative modules SIM7800 and SIM8100 before. SIM8100, as a C-V2X module supporting C-V2X function via PC5 interface, is applicable to such applications as vehicle to vehicle (V2V), vehicle to pedestrian (V2P) and vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) situations. At present, this module has gone through some tests and road tests, mainly to match the auto driving tests. SIMCom also launched its LTE-A+C-V2X solution - SIM7920X-Au. SIM7920X-Au Automotive module is the LTE-A+C-V2X next generation Automotive module solution based on Qualcomm SA415m platform. It uses LGA package, and supports up to LTE Cat 19 connection. Meanwhile, it also supports LTE Cat6/9/16 All-Modes network system at the same time, with a maximum downlink speed of up to 1.6Gbps. SIM7920X-Au can provide Open Linux secondary software development packages to the customers, which allows customers to develop their own functions. Meanwhile, the module is integrated with solutions that meet the vehicle network communication security requirements, and provides multiple security policy mechanisms to ensure the security of the network communication. Besides, SIM7920x-au not only reserves many peripheral interfaces, including SDIO, I2C, I2S, USB, UART, GPIO, etc., but also provides high-speed Ethernet interfaces suitable for the high-speed data transmission in the vehicle, in order to offer stable and reliable communication ability to the vehicle. In addition to 4G Uu communication ability, SIM7920X-Au supports C-V2X PC5 direct connection communication functions, which allows the low delay communication between vehicle and vehicle (V2V), vehicle and infrastructure (V2I), vehicle and pedestrian (V2P). The new generation LTE-A+C-V2X 2-in-1 vehicle module solution can meet various demands in the market of Internet of vehicles, such as auto driving and safe driving, and play an important role in the construction of intelligent transportation system. With the official commercial launch of 5G technology, the 5G+C-V2X integrated automotive grade module SIM8200X-Au will also be launched.
IHS predicted that the sales volume of the intelligent vehicles will exceed 10 million all over the world by 2035, and that the market volume of networking vehicles all over the world will achieve 350 million by 2022, with a market share of 24%, while sales volume of new networking-enabled vehicles will achieve 98 million, with a market share of 94%. With the diversification of the networking technologies and the improved networking rate of vehicles, the market potential of the Internet of vehicles service will be released gradually, and the Automotive module will embrace its next round of significant development. SIMCom will further improve its Automotive module series to keep pace with the times.
