SIMCom and Hongdian Jointly Launch a New-Generation 5G Industrial IoT Gateway

At 2021 MWC Shanghai, SIMCom and Hongdian jointly launched a new-generation of 5G industrial IoT gateway based on SIMCom 5G module SIM8202G-M2.



The Product Director of Hongdian, Ding Jing, shared at the product launch that the 5G era has spawned a large number of industrial applications of IoT, and the COVID-19 epidemic is accelerating the development of industrial applications. As a supplier focusing on IoT and committed to providing fast scenario-based IoT solution design and development and system services for industrial digitalization and smart city construction, Hongdian and SIMCom have maintained close cooperation. Many Hongdian solutions use SIMCom modules. The newly launched 5G industrial AIoT gateway is equipped with the 5G module SIM8202G-M2 of SIMCom. With the deployment of 5G networks and the advancement of new infrastructure, the demand for gateway products will increase significantly.



This 5G Industrial IoT gateway has an open architecture design that provides fast and flexible customization. Light and compact in size, it’s easy to integrate and can be embedded for installation, supporting all 5G networks, WiFi, wired network access, and can realize local real-time data analysis and intelligent processing. Designed by industrial standards, it has a wide temperature range. It’s dustproof, waterproof and oil proof, electromagnetic interference resistant, and can adapt to different industrial scenarios. It’s widely used in AGVs, patrol robots, WITMED and other industrial Internet scenarios.



SIM8202G-M2 has an ultra-small package size of only 30*42mm. A new four-antenna design is adopted to effectively improve communication capacity, transmit and receive data in a positive way, and maintain high-speed and stable data transmission. It supports NSA/SA networking, covering the bands of the world's major carries. It’s compatible with a variety of communication protocols, highly scalable and equipped with various interfaces. It can be widely used in virtual reality, augmented reality, CPE and other terminals, creating Internet of Vehicles, industrial IoT, WITMED, 4 k / 8 k HD videos and other application scenarios, supporting AIoT.
