On July 28, the 10th China Finance Summit was held in Shanghai. Under the theme “Growth”, the summit gathered business leaders, economic leaders, entrepreneurs and new young forces to discuss the path for China's economic upgrading. At the summit, SIMCom board chairman Yang Tao won the CFS Influential Individual (Industry) Award 2021.
Yang Tao, currently board chairman and CEO of SIMCom Wireless Solutions Limited, won the 5G+ Technology Pioneer Award at 5G China Innovation Hundreds Group 2019, the Outstanding CEO Award and China IoT Person of the Year at the 7th China IoT Conference 2020.
As a leader in the industry, the development and plans of SIMCom have been a focus of attention in the industry. Every move of the company is a bellwether for the industry. At present, SIMCom has more than 1,000 employees. The core staff is composed of doctoral returnees from famous European and American universities and graduates from well-known domestic universities. More than half of the employees have a master’s degree or higher. It is recognized as a galaxy of elites in the industry. SIMCom has five R&D centers in Shanghai, Chongqing, Xi’an, Shenzhen and Shenyang, with branches and offices in major cities in China and major countries and regions overseas. Under the leadership of Mr. Yang Tao, SIMCom has become the world's first IoT module and solution provider for 5G commercialization. It has taken the lead in launching a number of 5G modules, and established 5G strategic cooperation with more than 100 domestic enterprises. Yang Tao attaches great importance to investment in talent and research and development. More than ￥2 billion has been invested in research and development. SIMCom has built a new 5G laboratory in Chongqing to expand its R&D team on a large scale. At the same time, SIMCom has moved into a new office building in 2021, equipped with the world's leading laboratories and excellent office environment, which truly reflects its people-oriented idea. Under his leadership, SIMCom has established vehicle-mounted business division, notebook business division and business divisions in other key 5G application areas in the future, aiming at the goal of ￥10 billion in three years.
The arrival of 5G is fueling the digital transformation of the economy. Module makers play an important role in it. Yang Tao is very optimistic about the future of the module business. In the future, SIMCom will continue to increase investment in module research and development, and innovate more products to support the Internet of Everything.
